胸有成竹 (xiōngyǒuchéngzhú) To have a well-thought-out plan
Origin
Sòngcháo de shíhou, yǒu yí gè jiào Wén Tóng de huàjiā, hěn shàncháng huà zhúzi.
In the Song Dynasty, there was an artist whose name was Wen Tong; he was famous for his bamboo paintings.
Tā zài zhùzhái fùjìn zāile hěn duō zhúzi, wúlùn yīntiān hái shì xià yǔ, tā yì yǒu shíjiān jiù guānchá zhúzi.
He grew various bamboos everywhere around his house. He loved to observe the growth of the bamboo no matter whether it was sunny or rainy.
Shíjiān yì cháng, zhúzi zài bù tóng jìjié, bù tóng qìhou tiáojiàn hé bù tóng shíkè de xíngxiàng shēnshēn kèzàile tā xīnzhōng.
After a long time, the image of the bamboo in different seasons, under different weather conditions and different moments were deeply imprinted in his mind.
Suóyǐ dāng tā názhe bǐ zhǔnbèi zuòhuà shí, zhúzi de xíngxiàng jiù lìkè chūxiàn zài yǎn qián.
So when he stood before the paper and picked up a paint brush, the various forms of bamboo rose before his eyes at once.
Tā de péngyou jiù shuō: “dāng Wén Tóng zài huà zhú shí,xīnzhōng zǎo yǒule zhúzi de xíngxiàng.”
His friend said: “When Wen Tong was panting the bamboos, he had their images in his mind.”
