| Jilin Travel Guide | | | Jilin is located in the northeast of China and together with several provinces it makes up the region formerly known as Manchuria. Despite the winter cold, people come to this area for the Ice Lantern Festival and the winter sports. But Jilin has also many natural and historical attractions to entertain its residents and visitors.
The maybe most famous site is the Changbaishan (Ever-white Mountain). The mountain itself is a nature preserve that has tigers, deer, black bears, leopards and other wildlife in its original, undisturbed forests. On the very top of the mountain is Tianchi (Heavenly Lake), a vast volcanic crater lake set at an elevation of 2,194m and ripe with its own set of colorful myths.
The resorts of Songhua Hu Qingshan and Beidahu also offer China’s premiere sku destinations and are only several hour drive from the provincial capital. | | |
